Brain Injury Program

ICG Rehabilitaion Services provides case management services to prevent the unnecessary institutionalization of disabled individuals who have suffered a brain injury. This program provides supports and assistance to the individuals who have suffered a brain injury to continue to live in the community.

The involvement of ICG Rehabilitation Services with individuals "At Risk" of unnecessary institutionalization is due to our work as case managers in the community.

Funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services, Office of Rehabilitation Services, Home Services program since 2003, ICG Rehabilitation Services provides Brain Injury Case Management program services in the Chicagoland Metropolitan area.

Our Philosophy

The primary purpose of the program is to prevent unnecessary institutionalization of disabled individuals who have suffered a brain injury. To attain this purpose our case managers attempt to put into action the cornerstone concepts of the Independent Living Philosophy.

The cornerstone concepts of the Independent Living Philosophy are:

  • Regardless of disabilities or capabilities, all persons have the right and responsibility to determine the direction of their own lives and to fully and meaningfully participate as members of society.
  • Control over one's own life is based on the choice of acceptable options that minimize reliance on others in making decisions and performing everyday activities in the community; filling a range of social roles and making decisions that lead to self-determination; and, minimizing physical or psychological dependence on others.
